NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 by recognising the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander volunteers and staff who help strengthen communities across the state, with its annual NAIDOC Awards held in Wollongong yesterday. 

After responding to more than 400 incidents and contributing about 800 operational hours in the last decade, one of the Sutherland Shire's most dedicated NSW State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers has been honoured for his outstanding service.
