Students gaining practical emergency response skills while helping build the next generation of volunteers has been the focus of the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) Youth Internship Programs across the state during this school term.

The extraordinary contributions made by four NSW State Emergency Service (SES) members have earnt them a place in the 2026 Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards (RESCA) finalists list.

Make sure you visit the SES Display staffed by NSW SES volunteers from Wyong Unit. We'll have activities and hand-outs to help you and your family better understand and prepare for emergencies such as storms and floods.

Your local NSW SES Tomaree Unit will be attending the Port Stephens Winterfest Car Show 12th July 2026. The Car Show is an annual event with approximately 500 exhibitors and 10,000 + vistors to the event. Tomaree Unit members will be in attendance to promote the services and support provided by the SES. Also information to assist in preparing for an event such as floods, storms and tsunami in our area which will assist in managing risks and ability to respond. The community are invited to meet with our members to obtain information and view the various equipment used by the unit.

Emergency planning and operational response for NSW’s 361 declared dams will be strengthened through a new partnership between NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and Dams Safety NSW (DSNSW).
