Cancer patients, isolated by floodwaters on the state’s mid north coast, have received urgent medical supplies delivered by a NSW SES drone, in what’s believed to be an Australian first. 

The New South Wales State Emergency Service (SES) have commenced damage assessments of properties in flood affected communities, while resupply operations continue for residents isolated by flood waters. 

The NSW State Emergency Service has started to wind down flood operations in Western NSW while continuing to assist long-term isolated residents and facilitate the transition to recovery. 

Early estimates indicate at least 10,000 properties may have been damaged following record flooding on the NSW Mid North Coast, as the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) starts undertaking damage assessments.

The NSW SES is continuing to respond to the Major Flood emergency across NSW. There are 160 active warnings, 39 of which are at Emergency Warning and 76 are at Watch and Act.    More than 50,000 people currently remain isolated due to floodwaters.  

NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and emergency service partners are continuing to support communities along the Hunter and Mid North Coast impacted by major flooding.   

Major flooding is still occurring in several catchments across the Mid North Coast, as intense rainfall continues and the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) urges people to follow evacuation advice.

Prolonged heavy rainfall is set to continue throughout Thursday, as Mid North Coast communities remain on high alert for moderate and major flooding and NSW State Emergency Service (SES) members continue to respond to rescues.
