NSW State Emergency Service (SES) members from across the Northern Zone tested their rescue capability, teamwork and leadership skills during the annual Northern Zone Disaster Rescue Challenge held in Maitland over the weekend.

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) has responded to more than 500 incidents and five flood rescues, as widespread rainfall and thunderstorms impact northern and eastern parts of the state.

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is urging communities across northern and eastern New South Wales to monitor conditions and understand their flood risk this week, with flash flooding and minor river rises possible as severe weather impacts parts of the state.

Make sure you visit the SES Display staffed by NSW SES volunteers from Broken Hill SES Unit. We'll have activities and hand-outs to help you and your family better understand and prepare for emergencies such as storms and floods.
