The NSW SES is expecting significant rises in the Hawkesbury Nepean to continue today. Flood rescue teams, aviation assets and rescue vehicles have been prepositioned and continue to respond to incidents.

Conditions on the roads are extremely hazardous, and we may see some closures.  The Windsor and Richmond Bridges are expected to close.

Evacuation centres have been opened at Bankstown Sport Club, Club Liverpool and Richmond Club. A live list is available on the SES Website.

NSW SES is urging people to stay indoors as damaging winds and heavy rainfall is expected to continue today. Key locations of concern include:  Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay and Goulburn.

The rainfall is expected to continue to move south throughout the day, with Picton, the Illawarra and South Coast likely to be impacted by possible flash flooding.

This rainfall is likely to result in flash flooding and create hazardous driving conditions. Severe thunderstorms could also produce locally intense rainfall, potentially leading to life-threatening flash flooding
