NSW SES BRINGS FLOOD AND STORM SAFETY TO THE ROYAL EASTER SHOW

Children of all ages will be invited to explore emergency vehicles, meet volunteer rescuers, and even re-create a flood in a miniature town, as the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) returns to the Sydney Royal Easter Show for the first time in nearly a decade.

NSW SES Volunteers will be on hand to connect with attendees in fun and interactive ways designed to help them better know their risk, get prepared, and make safe decisions during times of flood, storm and tsunami.

With the Easter long weekend approaching, NSW SES Commissioner Carlene York APM encouraged families visiting the show from across the state to drop in to the stall and learn about ways to safely prepare for emergencies.

“This is a great time to come and meet our volunteers and also find out what you can do to keep safe,” Commissioner York said.

“While the kids explore our emergency response vehicles, you can have a go at flood rescue through interactive displays, or learn how to keep your home emergency kit up to date.”

Families can also try their luck with the NSW SES Prize Wheel, offering those who can correctly answer emergency safety questions a chance to win showbags and other prizes.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show runs from Friday 22 March to Tuesday 2 April at Sydney Olympic Park.

The NSW SES stall, which is sponsored by AAMI, can be found at the Home and Lifestyle Pavilion, next to the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome.
