Record flooding forecast at Forbes tomorrow

NSW SES members have door-knocked over 500 Forbes homes expected to be impacted by the equal-record flooding forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, 5 November.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted river levels to peak at Forbes at a height similar to the 1952 flood of 10.80 metres.
Deputy State Duty Commander Dallas Burnes said there were seven emergency warnings in place for Forbes communities, affecting about 1,000 people.
“Alongside partner agencies, our members are working with Lachlan River communities so they are aware of the forecast river height, and understand the dangers,” he said.
“We are asking people not to take any risks, to listen to emergency services’ advice, and to stay away from floodwater.”
NSW SES has deployed out-of-area assistance to liaise with members of the community, to identify vulnerable people, pets and livestock that may need help.
“In addition to our Forbes focus, NSW SES has been involved in major resupplies for isolated communities across the state,” Deputy State Duty Commander Burnes said.
Commuters travelling west of the Great Diving Range should check the Live Traffic website or council websites before heading out.
