NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has received more than 150 jobs across the state as wild weather batters the coast, cracking ceilings and bringing large trees down across roads and roofs.

The Central Coast, Mid North Coast and Northern NSW have copped the brunt of the storm, with 71 jobs since midnight on Sunday.

The Illawarra and South Coast haven’t escaped the storm, with NSW SES Volunteers hard at work tarping roofs, clearing fallen trees and providing sandbags to residents around the Shoalhaven.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of possible severe weather again today around Sydney, Wollongong, Kiama, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, The Entrance and Foster. Damaging winds with gusts over 90 km/h are possible along the coast with very heavy surf sparking a warning to stay away from the beach.

NSW SES is asking people to please:

• Park your car under cover or away from trees.
• Never drive, walk or ride through floodwater
• Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
• Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
• Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
• Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.
