The Disaster Rescue Challenge (DRC) is a hands-on, scenario-based event where SES teams test their disaster response skills across areas including rescue, land search, navigation, rescue, storm operations, and first aid. Teams are assessed throughout the challenge, with top performers progressing to the State Disaster Rescue Challenge.

You are being invited to the NSW SES Menai Unit Community Education as you live, work or visit a key location impacted by flood, storm and/or tsunami. Find out more about your risk and what you can do to prepare, respond and recover.

Make sure you visit the SES Display staffed by NSW SES volunteers from Yamba Unit. We'll have activities and hand-outs to help you and your family better understand and prepare for emergencies such as storms and floods.

Celebrating WOW day with Ku-ring-gai Council and its Australian Citizenship Ceremony

To celebrate WOW Day, volunteers from the Dapto and Wollongong SES Units will be donating blood or plasma at the Wollongong Red Cross Lifeblood Centre from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

NSW SES Ryde Unit will be giving a presentation to Headstart Early Learning Centre in West Ryde to children and educators. If you are a parent or carer you are welcome to attend to hear about what the NSW SES does and learn how you can prepare your property for floods and storms. The children will be dressing in orange to recognise WOW Day (Wear Orange Wednesday) so why not get into the spirit of the day and add a splash of orange as a way to say thank you to the SES.
