Severe weather update - Northern NSW Coast

A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall and damaging winds has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for parts of the Hunter, Mid North Coast, Northwest Slopes and Plains, and Northern Tablelands from Monday 19 May. 

Community advice and preparedness

The NSW SES and Bureau of Meteorology are monitoring a slow-moving low-pressure system off the NSW coast, expected to affect eastern parts of the state from Monday, 19 May to mid-week. 

A Severe Weather Warning has been issued for heavy rain and damaging winds across several regions, including the Hunter and Mid North Coast. Flood Warnings are also in place for these areas, with minor to moderate flooding possible.

Community members are advised to prepare their homes and make a plan for their animals.
