Giiyong Festival

The Aboriginal Peoples Engagement Program is a collaborative cultural initiative by NSW SES to build strong, respectful partnerships with Aboriginal Communities across New South Wales. Grounded in trust, cultural respect and shared knowledge, the program supports emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts that reflect Aboriginal values, lived experiences and deep connections to Country and water. ​

This initiative honours the enduring relationship Aboriginal peoples have with Country and water, focusing on culturally guided engagement, planning, actions, and building meaningful relationships that strengthen community preparedness.​
