NSW SES flood rescue operators assist during floods with evacuation of residents and rescue of people and animals from floodwaters. Flood rescue operators are highly trained and use a range of techniques including flood boats and rope work.

What's involved in this role
As a flood rescue operator, you may be asked to:
- Rescue motorists trapped in flooded vehicles.
- Rescue residents isolated by floodwaters.
- Assist residents evacuate their properties.
- Undertake reconnaissance of areas impacted by flooding.
- Resupply residents with fresh food and consumables.
- Assist NSW Ambulance with medical transportation of patients across floodwaters.
