The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) are currently providing specialist flood rescue personnel and equipment to South Australia in the flood affected areas of Renmark and Murray Bridge

A team of NSW SES flood rescue operators flew out of Sydney Airport yesterday, who will be working alongside the South Australian SES supporting their response to flooding along the Murray River

NSW SES Commissioner Carlene York APM said the South Australian SES had provided support during the flooding in NSW, and the Service was delighted to be able to provide them some support in return.

NSW has seen a record amount of flooding this year,” she said

During this time, we have received wonderful support from all states. As flooding eases in NSW, we can now return the favour to South Australia SES.

“At the core, our volunteers want to help the community in their time of need.

NSW SES volunteers are currently giving up their time with their family and friends to help South Australian communities.

“Volunteering and the desire to help the community goes beyond state borders.”

NSW SES Chief Superintendent Ken Murphy has deployed to Adelaide to coordinate the interstate deployment

“We currently have a team of volunteer flood rescue specialists deployed, ” he said.

In addition, we will be providing high clearance vehicles and drivers from Sunday.

“SA SES provided us with wonderful support during one of the busiest flooding periods in NSW. We are very proud to be able to support them in return.”

NSW SES will continue to provide assistance at the request of SA SES until at least the end of January.
