Livestock and equipment warning Talbragar River at Dunedoo and Downstream

05/01/2021 02:20 AM

What is happening:

Heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Talbragar River catchment Monday night. Rainfall has eased since early Tuesday morning.

What we are expecting:

It is expected that low-lying areas along the Talbragar River may become inundated. Some local roads and low-level bridge crossings may be closed or affected by flood water.

What you need to do:

  • Landowners and farmers adjacent to the Talbragar River and creeks should monitor river levels and:
  • If necessary, relocate or move farm machinery, irrigation pumps and other equipment to higher ground.
  • Consider when to move livestock as access roads may close early. If necessary, relocate or move livestock to higher ground.
  • People working or camping along the Talbragar River should monitor river heights and be prepared to move to higher ground.

Safety is your highest priority - Never walk, drive, or play in floodwaters.

For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500. In life threatening situations call triple zero (000) immediately.
