Katie Newcombe wins young inspirational women award

14/11/2020 12:56 PM

Congratulations to our very own Katie Newcombe on receiving the Young Inspirational Women – Health Care Worker award at this year’s Rotary Inspirational Women’s Awards.

Katie Newcombe is well-versed in helping people. From her work in an aged care facility, to supporting her father, Katie is a busy woman. In her (limited) spare time, she also performs in exemplary orange army fashion on the NSW north coast with the NSW SES Harrington Unit.

She documents and relays storm and flood intelligence, and is hands-on with property damage, protection, and chainsaw jobs. Well done to Katie and all the winners this year.

What are the Rotary Inspirational Women’s Awards?

The Inspirational Women’s Awards (RIWA) have been established to recognise women and young women who best exemplify Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self (i.e. the community service the individual performs above and beyond their normal role.)
