A cold front with a transient low pressure system has resulted in snow to low levels across the Central and Southern Tablelands as well as widespread rainfall and strong winds across the Illawarra, Metropolitan and Central Coast areas. 

A low-pressure system is currently situated of the Hunter coastline, bringing fresh and gusty southerly winds through the Hunter and Sydney coastlines this morning before beginning to weaken.

Moderate bursts of showers will be felt during the morning in the Hunter, transiting south through the day. The low should weaken during today and Thursday as a high-pressure system becomes dominant over the Tasman Sea, pushing a ridge into New South Wales, and bringing a gradual return to north-easterly winds.

Thunderstorms in the north likely to clear this morning. Possible thunderstorms on the coastal fringe south from about Taree in the afternoon/evening.

Increased expectation of rainfall in the Hunter and southern Mid North Coast has resulted in a Flood Watch being issued for three catchments (Myall, Paterson-Williams and Tuggerah-Lake).

Another cold front has been forecast move through the state over the weekend.

These weather conditions have resulted in storm damage including roofs damaged and leaking as well as trees and branches.

The NSW SES has received 446 jobs with the greatest area of impacts being Gosford, Penrith and Goulburn.
