25/07/2019 03:20 PM

The new $2.3m NSW State Emergency Service Dubbo City Unit headquarters was officially opened at the Dubbo City Regional Airport today.

The state-of-the-art facility will be home to both the NSW SES Dubbo City Unit and Volunteer Rescue Association members. It has a large garage for emergency vehicles, an operations centre, joint training facility, amenities, kitchen and a dedicated car parking area.

“Volunteers from the NSW SES Dubbo City Unit work hard to save lives and protect their community,” said NSW SES Western Zone Commander David Monk.

“This building will provide them with a secure base from which to train, to coordinate operations and for the storage of vital equipment.”

The relocation of the two organisations to the Airport will bring the NSW State Emergency Service closer to other agencies like the Rural Fire Service State Mitigation Service, Orana Fire Control, The New Rural Fire Services Training Academy and The Royal Flying Doctors Service.
