Storm Update Thursday 11 January

11/01/2018 02:02 PM

After the widespread and damaging severe storms of Tuesday, weather conditions during Wednesday were more settled with storms confined to the northern tablelands and slopes, with only a few severe storms and minimal damage reported to the NSW SES.

Today storms are expected to start in the early afternoon with the area most likely to see severe storms from Armidale east to Dorrigo, north to Nymboida, and south to Murrurundi in the Upper Hunter. Storms are not likely near the coast and any that do reach the coast in the north will likely be weak. The Bureau of Meteorology have advised that most storms should ease off in early part of the evening.

NSW SES volunteers and the NSW SES State Operations Centre are on standby and ready to assist if weather conditions deteriorate and there are requests for assistance from the community.

If you do require emergency assistance due to storm damage, call the NSW SES on 132 500, or 000 if it is a life-threatening emergency.
