10/01/2018 11:13 AM

During Tuesday severe thunderstorms moved through eastern NSW with heavy rain and damaging winds to 122km/hr (Nowra) and hail of up to 5cm. The NSW SES has now received 385 jobs from these severe storms. The areas that have been most affected are Bathurst (40), Cowra (19), Blue Mountains, Lithgow & Cootamundra (each17), Orange (15) and Dubbo (14). In Sydney the worst affected suburbs were Waverley, Blacktown and Cronulla.

NSW SES volunteers supported by other emergency services and local Councils are continuing the clean up today with most jobs now completed. Damage has generally been minor, mostly leaking roofs and fallen trees and branches.

If you have damage and require emergency assistance, call the NSW SES on 132 500, or 000 if it is a life-threatening emergency.

Further storms are forecast for the northern ranges and slopes for today. To view all current weather forecasts and warnings vist the Bureau's website here http://www.bom.gov.au/
