Weather system off the NSW coast impacting now

A deepening weather system off the NSW coast situated near the Royal National Park is expected to impact southern Sydney, the Illawarra and Southern Highlands over the next few hours.
Very heavy rainfall rates of 30 – 60mm per hour may lead to flash flooding in some areas.
The NSW SES has undertaken 17 flood rescues in the Illawarra area over the past 3 hours, with many motorists caught in floodwaters. This brings us a total of 28 flood rescues for this weather event.
NSW SES has 140 teams active or on standby across NSW.
Locations with the greatest impact are:
- The Hills 127 jobs
- Coffs Harbour City 76 jobs
- Dubbo 75 jobs
- Blacktown 61 jobs
Rainfall has eased but continued throughout the day, resulting in a Flood Watch remaining for the following Rivers including Brunswick, Wilsons, Richmond, Clarence, Orana, Coffs Creek, Bellinger, Nambucca, Macleay, Hastings and Manning.
NSW SES is advising people in these areas to delay travel where possible.
Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads, make the safe decision to turn around and take a safer route.
