Severe Weather Warning Issued

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a low is expected to develop off the south coast on Friday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms which may lead to flash flooding is expected on Friday and Saturday. Twenty four hour totals in excess of 100 mm are possible in some parts of the affected areas.
A Flood Watch is current for the Moruya and Bega river valleys.
Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Nowra, Bowral, Batemans Bay, Eden and Moruya Heads.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
