NSW SES Thanks Safe Drivers

04/03/2017 11:39 AM

We have received over 1500 calls from the community to our Operation Centre during the Severe Weather Event. This has resulted in over 560 requests for assistance that our Volunteers have responded to.

It is a credit to the community that even with the amount of rainfall NSW has had over the last few days, with the water motorists have faced on the roads, that we have not had to perform any flood rescues. The conditions are expected to remain hazardous for parts of the State throughout the weekend so be sure to plan your routes using the live traffic website

There is still a Severe Weather Warning for people in the South Coast and parts of the Illawarra, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts. There is also a Flood watch for the Moruya River Valley and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for people in parts of the Hunter, Central Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains and Central West Slopes and Plains Forecast Districts.
