NSW SES Severe Weather Update Monday 3 April 2017 9am

The NSW SES continues to respond to severe flooding in the north east corner of New South Wales.
There are now 2624 Requests for Assistance, with requests coming in at a diminished rate. This includes 485 flood rescues, with 3 flood deaths.
During Monday there will be at least 200 SES members in the field, supported by RFS volunteers and members of Fire and Rescue, NSW Ambulance, NSW Police and local government.
The NSW RFS has 10 strike teams and 2 Bulk water appliances, with the strike teams consisting of 50 appliances and 250 RFS personnel in total. There are also 27 personnel from Fire and Rescue New South Wales and assistance from the South Australia SES with 10 community liaison officers.
A base camp was established at the North Coast TAFE to accommodate emergency services personnel with a capacity of 375 RFS and SES members.
There are isolations in a number of smaller communities, totalling around 2,200 people. The NSW SES stands ready to resupply isolated farms and communities as required. People requiring resupply should call the NSW SES ion 132 500.
Evacuation Orders remain in place affecting approximately 14,890 people in the following locations:
- South Murwillumbah, Condong, Tumbulgum
- Murwillumbah CBD
- Tweed Heads West and South
- Kyogle
- Billinudgel
- New Brighton
- Banora Point
- Cabbage Tree Island
As further assessments are made, it is expected that most areas currently subject to evacuation orders will receive all clear notifications today. Residents and business owners are asked to not return until the all clear is given and it is safe to do so.
All Clears have been issued for:
- Lismore CBD, North and South
- Kingscliff
- Tweed Heads
Evacuation centres are still open at the following locations:
- Tweed Banora High School
- Kings Sacred Heart Catholic Church Murwillumbah
- Mt St Patricks College, Murwillumbah
- Southern Cross University Lismore
A disaster welfare assistance point has been set up at Kingscliffe TAFE for today only.
