Heavy rain and thunderstorms

Northern NSW continues to experience heavy rainfalls and widespread thunderstorm activity with further rain expected in the north east over the next few days.

The NSW SES has received over 582 jobs across the state with the main areas impacted being Sydney metro including Blacktown, the Hills and Hornsby as well as the central coast in areas such as Gosford and Wyong.

NSW SES Volunteers responded to four flood rescues in the Western Sydney area yesterday and also assisted to evacuate 90 children from a child care centre in Orchard Hills as a result of flash flooding.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for the Brunswick River at Mullumbimby and severe thunderstorm for the areas around Lismore and Grafton.  For further information go to http://bit.ly/1GMdB5x
