All Clear Issued for Lismore

With the Wilsons River now at the minor flood level and water having receded from the CBD, the NSW SES has now issued an All Clear for residents of Lismore CBD, North Lismore and South Lismore.
This means that it is now safe to return, but certain precautions are necessary.
When re-entering your property or place of business, please be mindful of wildlife, vermin and snakes that may have taken refuge in the property.
Make sure the electricity and gas is turned off before going inside. Use a torch to carry out inspections inside buildings. If power points, electrical equipment, appliances or electrical hot water systems have been exposed to floodwater or are water damaged in any way, they must be inspected by a qualified electrician before use.
Gas appliances and gas bottles that have been exposed to floodwater should be inspected for safety before use.
