Corporate Volunteers
Are you looking for positive ways to develop your staff and make an impact in your community?
NSW SES offers a range of flexible volunteering opportunities to provide a memorable experience in which your staff will grow and learn new skills. NSW SES has thousands of dedicated and committed people across NSW who volunteer to help their local community in times of floods, storms, tsunami and other emergencies.
As a business partner of the NSW SES you will have the opportunity to:
- make a positive impact in your community,
- develop employee teamwork and leadership skills,
- build employee networks and contacts within your community.
Volunteering with the NSW SES is about making a positive contribution to your community and helping residents prepare and respond better to floods, storms, tsunami and other emergencies. The NSW SES understands that volunteers have work, family and other commitments and is flexible with volunteering arrangements.
When your staff volunteer with the NSW SES, they will join a team of likeminded volunteers who share the same commitment and passion for helping the community. Your team will form friendships with other experienced volunteers and keep in touch long after their experience has ended.
As well as providing your employees with challenges and an opportunity to learn new skills, your NSW SES experience will give your organisation a new perspective about your community.

What can corporate volunteers do?

Corporate volunteers with the NSW SES have the opportunity to take part in an array of diverse and exciting emergency roles including:
Storm and flood preparation and response: helping people prepare for storms and floods, assisting in the resupply of isolated communities and protecting properties from flooding.
Technology: using technology and communications equipment to equip volunteers during emergencies.
Media and Community engagement: communicating safety messages and warning to the community via selected media channels to help raise awareness of the NSW SES and working with your community to help build local resilience to flood, storm and tsunami.
Operational support: supporting the activities of teams in the field through roles such as administration, data entry, communication and catering.
Logistics: helping to plan how to acquire, distribute and use resources during emergencies.
Your existing skills: whether your team has skills in finance, information technology, human resources or customer service, the NSW SES can find a role to best utilise your staff and apply their strengths in a disaster environment.
Learn new skills

The NSW SES is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with qualified trainers and assessors. NSW SES offers its volunteers the opportunity to participate in a wide range of nationally accredited courses.
The skills your employees learn can give them competencies that can lead towards various nationally recognised qualifications.
As well as providing your employees with challenges and the opportunity to learn new skills, your NSW SES experience will give your organisation a new perspective about your community.
