SES Volunteers Pack Supplies for Burma12 May 2008, 6:46pmSES volunteers assisting with packing goods for Burma Last Friday evening, 15 volunteers from the Sydney Southern SES Units of Marrickville and Bankstown spent six hours packing goods to be flown to Burma to assist in recovery efforts after Cyclone Nargis.
Overseas Disaster Resources (ODR), an organisation that sends goods overseas to areas affected by disasters, with the assistance of SES volunteers, sent pallets of goods to Burma on a Boeing 727 donated by DHL. The Boeing left Sydney Sunday afternoon and arrived in Singapore that evening. The goods will be sent in to Burma by road. Guy Chenery from ODR expressed his thanks to the SES volunteers for their hard work and commitment to assisting people across the world in times of disasters. |
