To publicise the start of the 2006 - 2007 NSW storm season, Fairfield SES Unit played host to TV weatherman Tim Bailey on Tuesday October 3rd.
Tim and his team were made welcome by over 30 volunteers from the unit as well as by the SES mascot Paddy Platypus.
During three live crosses from the unit back to the studio for his weather segments, Tim praised the work of the SES volunteers in their response to the severe weather that affected the state during September, in which they answered over 5000 requests for assistance. He also drew attention to the community education trailer recently donated by O'Brien, and the role it will play in helping to educate the community about floods and storms.
The SES Fairfield Local Controller, Les Milne, was interviewed by Tim and gave viewers some useful tips on how to reduce property damage caused by storms and what they can do to stay safe during a storm.
