SES and Canterbury City Council Develop Different Language FloodSafe and StormSafe Guides

10 July 2006, 10:33am

The SES and Canterbury City Council have released a set of different language brochures that inform community groups of preparedness and safety issues during floods and storms.

The different language brochures give communities who speak a language other than English, access to important information that can reduce the loss associated with floods and storms.

The languages are: Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Korean and Vietnamese.

Each language has information on both FloodSafe information and StormSafe information. The information was translated from the SES generic FloodSafe and StormSafe brochures.

You can access both these brochures by visiting the StormSafe page for StormSafe information in different languages and the FloodSafe different language brochures page for FloodSafe information in different languages.

The brochures were made possible through Canterbury City Council applying for funding through the NRMA to develop an information brochure based on the SES information.
