NSW SES Fire Support Update Saturday

12 January 2013, 10:48AM AET

On Friday the NSW SES again assisted the Rural Fire Service in fire support operations. With very hot conditions today, Saturday, further assistance is being undertaken and may increase if weather conditions deteriorate.

In the Southern Tablelands both the Bungendore and Queanbeyan Units provided assistance to the RFS with catering and logistics support, while the Yass Unit delivered community welfare information.

The Wollondilly Unit continued to assist the RFS at the Oakdale Air Base, undertaking catering and logistics.

In the Shoalhaven, the Nowra and Ulladulla Units assisted the RFS with logistics support at the Shoalhaven Fire Control Centre and Emergency Operations Centre.

Members from across the Sydney Metropolitan continue to assist as call operators at the Bushfire Information Line, while the Fairfield unit assisted with the delivery of water to RFS members in the field.

The NSW SES continues to have Liaison Officers at Cooma Emergency Operations Centre and at the Penrith and Macarthur Fire Control Centres.
