NSW SES Bringing in the Gold at Firefighters Games

22 October 2012, 10:38AM AET

The NSW SES has won several medals including two gold at the World Firefighters Games in Sydney.

The Games got off to a spectacular start last Friday with NSW SES Mascot Paddy Platypus joining Fire and Rescue NSW Mascot Bernie Cinders to welcome the athletes from around the world to the Games. Paddy was a big hit with the athletes and enjoyed helping them to celebrate the start of over a week of intense competition.

Over the weekend volunteers from Sydney and as far afield at Queanbeyan competed in events, refereed and provided invaluable logistic support to the Games organisers.

The NSW SES is proud of the contributions and achievements of its volunteers at the Games.
