NSW SES TsunamiSafe Guide Developed for Lord Howe Island

1 August 2012, 11:35AM AET

NSW SES Mid North Coast Region, Community Engagement, GIS, ERM and the Lord Howe Island Group, have completed the design and development of a TsunamiSafe Guide for Lord Howe Island .

The guide has information on evacuation areas and assembly areas in the event of a tsunami impacting the island. The guide also has safety information for what to do in the event of a marine and immediate foreshore threat and a land inundation threat.

The guide will be officially launched by the SES Mid North Coast Region on the island and the brochures distributed locally within the coming months.
