Damaging Winds to Continue Through Thursday

The Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds has been reissued by the Bureau of Meteorology this morning. Locations which may be affected on today include Bega, Batemans Bay, Goulburn, Moss Vale, Nowra, Wollongong, Katoomba, Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle, Armidale and Barrington Tops.

Only 20 requests for assistance have been received overnight by the NSW SES, however there has been significant damage to a number of properties, including in Jindabyne yestersday afternoon and a Bega property has had a roof partially removed.

Wind gusts of 109km/hour were recorded in Bega overnight, and peak gusts are expected to exceed 90km/hour throughout today.

Call colume to the NSW SES is starting to pick up for the south coast around the Bega, Eden and Nowra areas.
