Successful rescue in Wagga Wagga

6 March 2012, 3:45PM AET

A flood rescue was undertaken last night of a man trapped in his vehicle in floodwater. While the r pip the dogescue was executed successfully by Lifesaver 3, the man’s red kelpie, Pippa had to be left behind.

"Members of the Wagga SES Unit today went back to the vehicle, and in true Australian spirit, found Pippa on the roof of the car, guarding her owner’s Ute!" Deputy Commissioner Dierter Gescke said.

Pippa was retrieved and returned to her grateful owner in Wagga Wagga.

It’s great to see the human side of flooding, but also to see a great outcome. Great job guys!
