Torrential Rain has Affected the Mid-North Coast of NSW This Morning

Overnight the NSW SES has been busy on the Mid-north Coast of New South Wales with flood rescues and threatening flash floodwater as torrential rain fell. The area affected was between Kempsey and the Barrington Tops, with falls of 101mm at Taree and 91mm at Port Macquarie. The heavy rain resulted in flash flooding and rises in local rivers, with a minor flood warning issued for the Hastings River at Kindee Bridge and the Williams River at Dungog. Rural property owners should lift pumps and relocate livestock and equipment to higher ground.
There were three rescues at Port Macquarie including a person from their home threatened by flooding, a women from a vehicle in floodwater and 30 greyhounds rescued by the SES who were in chest deep water. There has also been a rescue at Taree of persons from floodwater with details not clear at this time. All rescued are safe and well.
The NSW SES has received around 25 requests for assistance, most calls for help relating to threatening flash flooding.
The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that the weather will ease during the morning.
