Selection Criteria
Ensure you address all the essential criteria in your application
The information on the jobs.nsw website is available to help you prepare your written application. This written application is what the committee uses to determine who is eligible for an interview. As the competition for jobs is high, an informative written application is necessary to demonstrate to the Selection Committee that you meet all the advertised selection criteria. If your application does not demonstrate how you meet these criteria then you will not normally be considered for an interview.
At this stage you may want to speak to, or arrange to visit the contact officer to discuss the position description, selection criteria or other information.
It is important to remember that you make your application as clear and concise as possible and do not include any irrelevant information, as the selection committee will have many applications to consider. The Application for Employment/Transfer/Promotion in its electronic form requires you to fill out your personal information and detailed instructions as to what information to include in your written application.
Include a covering letter explaining and demonstrating how your skills, knowledge and experience meet each of the essential criteria.
