Wollongong - Central and Northern Suburbs FloodSafe Guide

Flooding is common on the many short and steep streams that flow eastward from the escarpment across the built-up areas of the coastal plain.

Flooding in the Wollongong area occurs on average about twice per year, at least to nuisance level. All areas can be damaged by flooding or water inundation of some form.

Flash flooding happens quite often.
