The Minister for Emergency Services Tony Kelly has handed over three new vehicles to the Randwick SES Unit.

The Randwick State Emergency Service (SES) Unit has received a $110,000 State Government boost to help with the cost of its new emergency response vehicles.

On Tuesday 30 September, the Minister for Emergency Services, Tony Kelly, presented the unit’s volunteers with the funding subsidy to assist with the purchase of three vehicles. The vehicles are a Holden Rodeo crew cab, and two Iveco light trucks. Also present at the handover was the General Manager of Randwick Council and the Randwick Controller, Peter Gray.

At the presentation, Mr Kelly thanked the members of the Randwick Unit for their hard work and for their commitment in protecting and assisting their community in times of emergencies and natural disasters, noting that like every SES unit, Randwick SES volunteers were ready around the clock to help when they were needed, often in the most trying and inclement conditions. Mr Kelly also noted that with the storm season officially commencing on 1 October, that the vehicles were a timely investment in the local communities' safety in the coming storm season.
