SES Cadets from Orange and Parkes will take part in a two day cadet camp to be held at the Sport and Recreation Centre at Lake Burrendong.

On Wednesday the 28th and Thursday 29th October, SES Cadets from Orange and Parkes will take part in an SES Cadet Camp at Lake Burrendong in the Central West of New South Wales.

Attending the camp will be 25 SES cadets from The Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange and 25 SES cadets from the Parkes High School. The cadets will take part in activities over the two day camp including team building, urban search and rescue, hauling and lifting loads, flood boat operations, land search and building a flying fox. Also attending will be teachers from both schools and members of the SES.

Leading up to the cadet camp, the cadets have successfully completed a 10 week program in their respective schools in which they learnt about the roles and functions of the NSW State Emergency Service (SES), safety, emergency management, communications and the importance of working in a team.
