As at 7am on Tuesday 23rd June the Bureau of Meteorology had finalised flood warnings for the Nambucca, Bellinger, Wilsons and Brunswick Rivers. Rain has cleared from the North Coast and Mid-North Coast Regions of the state overnight, with showers today not expected to cause renewed river rises.
On the Orara River a minor flood warning is still current. The Orara River peaked at 6.8 metres on the bridge gauge at Glenreagh at 6pm Monday evening. The isolation of some 200 households in the area around Coutts Crossing is expected to continue during Tuesday. The SES is monitoring the welfare of affected residents.
Water levels remain high in many areas on the North and Mid-North Coast Regions and the SES advises motorists that some causeways may have water over them. The SES urges that you do not drive, ride or walk through floodwaters as water may be faster flowing and deeper than it looks and contain hidden snags, debris and washed out sections.
For emergency assistance in floods and storms call the SES on 132 500. In a life threatening emergency call 000 immediately.
