The SES is the lead response agency in NSW for storms. All storm damage work carried out by the SES is free and completed by volunteer members.

The SES can place tarpaulins on damaged roofs, remove fallen trees and branches from buildings, roads or properties, rescue people trapped or injured by storm activity and give safety advice.

SES volunteers can clear access to and carry out temporary repairs to damaged property. Property owners need to arrange professional tradespeople to carry out permanent repairs.
